Course & Program

Qualification Level: Foundation Degree (2 year leading to 1 year top up to BA)

The Foundation and BA (Hons) Degree programmes are designed to develop dancers using highly tuned dance training by a wide, experienced and varied faculty, all prominent in their specialism. Students will be exposed to a vast range of dance techniques and styles with a focus on choreography and performance, along with rigorous technical studio based training in both Ballet and Contemporary dance. Critical studies give students the skills they need to become thinking dancers and choreographers. Rambert students graduate as versatile, creative and adaptable dance artists.

All students must be aged 16 or over by 1st September in the year they wish to start.

Qualification Level: MA (Masters) Degree

MA Professional Dance Performance opens up a new academic and creative pathway for graduate students to enter the dance profession, integrating professional dance experience at the highest level with postgraduate study. MA Professional Dance Performance is awarded and validated by the University of Kent.

This course offers students a year of training at postgraduate level while forming part of Rambert2, a pioneering new ensemble created in partnership with Rambert dance company to bring together dancers with outstanding ability, creativity and individuality. Rambert2 dancers create and tour world-class contemporary dance, while developing their individual creative and reflective dance practice, and gaining a professional postgraduate qualification.

By working in partnership to deliver this programme, Rambert School and Rambert (dance company) are able to provide an exceptional level and breadth of teaching and performance opportunities, plus learning/enhancement of professional research skills, all informed by both practice and research from the forefront of the dance profession. Students will discover how to work beyond their perceived limits of technical ability (and endurance), while deepening their own creative and interpretative style and developing a sense of artistic ownership of the work they will perform and/or create.
