Course & Program

Qualification Level: Three Year Professional Diploma

The course balances classwork with rehearsal for the current production and covers:
•Acting and Performance
•Voice and Singing
•Improvisation
•Movement and Dance
•Classical & Modern Text Work & Verse
•TV Film & Radio
•Stage Combat
•Trinity College London Diplomas in Performance (Speech & Drama) to LTCL (Ofqual level 6 Degree Level)

Graduating students present their work in a London Showcase to an audience of invited industry contacts.

Whilst offering a practical and experiential training – the syllabus is focused towards all students taking a ATCL Diploma (Trinity) with the potential to move on to the LTCL. Download the syllabus with more information here. View a full copy of our Cygnet Prospectus for more information.

Each term scenes are prepared for performance assessment under audition conditions. The preparation encourages the practical application of all areas of the classwork and a focus upon the individual’s growing technique.

Acting needs as much training as any of the arts and the training must be both practical and precise. Three years is only a beginning: the learning process continues throughout life. Student actors in the Cygnet Company are given the opportunity to do highly disciplined work. They are expected to be ready for this.

Entry for all courses is by audition and interview. Applicants will be required to participate in group workshops as well as performing their own individual pieces, along with attending a short interview.

Course Duration: Three Years

Course Fee: £ 2500.00 Per Term

Qualification Level: Foundation

Foundation year students follow year one of the Cygnet Programme, which covers all aspects of the training, as well as Stage Management opportunities. Promising students will be invited to continue into the senior company. If there are more applicants than places, applicants will be auditioned for a second year place.
